Back to Thailand

Well after a long journey we have arrived. Set out from Gatwick at 2.25pm monday arrived at Dubai at midnight, the 03.15 flight was full so we had to wait until 09.40 (in the bar of all places). Our seats on the plane were the bulkhead seats, normally where they put the babies and low and behold there was one never slept shouted all the way. But that wasn't my biggest problem, next to me was the largest lady ever. Her bum was so large it had its own weather system. She had to put the armrest up between us so she could get it in. I only had half a seat and even then her bum was spreading over me like blancmange. Grotesque. Arrived in Bangkok, so did one of our bags the other was left in Dubai. Bus journey wasn't much better, a little girl was behind me standing on her seat with a bottle in her mouth, every time she turned around the bottle was bashing me, both sides of my head pleased it was a plastic bottle not glass. Still we are back now in the rain, with both our bags I'm pleased to say.

We've eaten somethings but!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday we bought some sausages for breakfast. Cooked them in the frying pan and the skins were so tough our knives and forks were bouncing off. We chewed lots and ate them, they were quiet tasty. So today I decided to just put them in boiling water (like frankfurters). They were still tough so we decided to "peel" them. It was then we realised they were all individually wrapped in plastic. Sausages in condoms I ask you.

Penang Malaysia

Well after 22 hours of travelling 17 hours by train then a ferry ride then a bus we finally arrived at our hotel at 4pm (english time not Thai). The last 4 hours on the train was in Malaysia, as they are a Muslim country NO alcohol. It was a long 4 hours I can tell you. Our sleeping compartments on the train were better than expected but it was so cold. I also had to evict 2 cockroaches from my bed. Perhaps they were cold too. The toilets left a lot to be desired, absolutely disgusting. Our first trip out was to the bank. On our way we meet a moniter lizard. It was at least 6 feet long. No exaggeration. See picture, his tail is missing as I couldn't get it all in (I'm very happy this one didn't jump on my arm). Hotel was good as was the swimming pool and beach. Food was a lot more expensive than we have been used to. Got our visas stamped for the the next 90 days, next time maybe Vietnam?

Crossing to nowhere?

A picture for Fran

Its a bit blurred as I was a little shakey. I don't think its the same one but they all look the same to me.

FOOTBALL

I watched my first ever football match last night, England versus Solvenia. The commentary was fantastic. All in Thai, nobody was getting overly excited. They also didn't get names or numbers correct. Priceless.
